The Healthy Obsessions...
Red Light, All of Us Stars, A Really Good Smoothie and A Walk in the Park...
My biggest obsession this week is my brilliant friend Seana Redmond launching her book, All of Us Stars, celebrating the work of photographer Bobby Busnach. It is genuinely life affirming to see people you love doing incredible things and the story of how this book came to exist is as inspiring as the images themselves. You can read the full story on Seana’s Substack here. The message is loud and clear; ‘everything that sparks a passion inside of you is encouraging you to follow it.’ Pay attention to the things that light you up because you never know where it could take you <3

Speaking of things that spark a passion - I have been having this smoothie for breakfast on repeat. It is DELICIOUS. Like any health enthusiast, I love a good smoothie - but normally it does not go the distance from breakfast to lunch especially if you like to exercise in the morning. This, however, really does the job - it is loaded with super nutritious ingredients for sustained energy, hormone balance, blood sugar balance and gut health - enjoy!
Serves 1
100 ml coconut kefir (good for your gut)
100 ml coconut water (super hydrating, full of electrolytes)
Protien powder - I love Willpowers either vanilla or chocolate, or Form if you’re plant based
1 tbsp flaxseed (high fibre / omegas / hormone balancing)
1 tbsp almond butter (good fats / protein)
1 tsp maca powder (energy / mood / libido)
1 tsp psyllium husk (fibre / digestion / satiety)
1/2 a small frozen banana (fibre / energy / flavour)
Pinch of coffee beans or ground coffee - this for me is the star ingredient
Pinch of cinnamon
Ice + blend
About six weeks ago, I invested in the Current Body red light mask. It is expensive. But having dedicated myself to actually using it, it is 100% worth it. I use it pretty much every day. It’s light and floppy so you can travel with it, it charges on the iPhone charger so you don’t need to think about it, it’s really relaxing - so I like to do it before bed, and it takes ten minutes which is perfect for some meditation or legs up the wall, or deep breathing or watching TV.
In my head it makes me look like A.I.
But the main event is that my skin looks really great. And even though there are many things that contribute to this - food / sleep / exercise blah blah blah - I have definitely noticed the difference since the mask.
Yesterday, after a long and delicious lunch celebrating my friend Isaac’s birthday, I took a long and delicious walk through Hyde Park to see Peter Doig at the Serpentine - which just opened and is wonderful. I did not take any pictures of the show which I know seems like madness in the content-culture, but my crappy pictures will do nothing to tell you about the experience of this show. House of Music explores the role of music, film and the role of being in a communal space play when experiencing art so I was very happy just to be there and listen to Brian Eno and talk to strangers. One painting made me feel so much I had tears in my eyes, and so did the guy staring at it next to me - so we kind of laughed at each other in understanding.
Genuinely nothing feels better than a walk in the park - especially on a fresh and sunny autumn day where the colour of everything is just mind blowingly beautiful. In a world where most of us walk around necks craned staring into The Void - a walk in the park reminds us that we live in a magical world.
Have a beautiful day 🪬
